The Annual Delta County Fair and BBQ Cookoff will be held in April each year at the Cooper City Park Come to Delta County and enjoy a weekend of fun for all ages.
Delta County Chiggerfest and 5K Run/Walk sponsored by the Delta County Chamber of Commerce are very successful annual events. Plan to come help run the CHIGGERS out of Delta County for the season on 3rd Saturday in October each year.
The Annual Trunk or Treat Halloween on the Cooper Square on October 31st each year. A costume contest, pumpkin carving contest and a decorate your trunk contest and a lot of spooks fill the Cooper square. Be ready to make Cooper the Spookiest Town in Texas.
Delta County Christmas Parade first Saturday in December each year. Decorated floats, cars, four wheelers, horses and a lot of spectators help start the Christmas season. Everyone welcome to participate with entries in any category.
Cooper Lake State ParkCooper Lake State Park has something for everyone. The Park consisting of 3,026 acres is situated 3 miles south of downtown Cooper and it offers a 19,300-acre lake and two state park units. South Sulphur UnitSouth Sulphur Unit, located on the south side of Cooper Lake, offers 14 fully furnished lakeside cabins, 21 screened shelters, 89 water and electric campsites, 20 equestrian campsites and a 10.5 mile equestrian trail. The park also has fishing piers, two boat ramps and a large group pavilion.
Doctor's Creek Park UnitDoctors Creek Park Unit, located on the north side of Cooper Lake approximately 4 miles from Historic Cooper Square. Park Activities: Camping, fishing, picnicking, boating, unsupervised swimming, hiking, bird watching, nature study, nature programs, and tours. Park Facilities: 466 acres with 6.2 miles of shoreline. Four lane boat ramp, fish cleaning table, swimming beach, picnic pavilion, playground, 2 day-use areas, 50 picnic sites, 42 multi-use campsites with water and electricity, 5 screened shelters, 2 premium shelters, hiking trail, trailer dump station, 2 comfort stations, and 1 restroom with showers. Directions: East from Commerce on SH 24 to Cooper. From Cooper, east for 1 mile on SH 154, then south for 2 miles on FM 1529 to the park entrance; or North from Interstate 30 at Exit 122 on the west side of Sulphur Springs for 14 miles on SH 19, then west on County Road 4795 for 2 miles to the Corps of Engineers office, cross the lake dam and drive 1 mile further to the park entrance.
